Lydia Maria Sturgues: 6/30/2014, at 3301 HAMMOND RD RALEIGH, NC. 5'03", 183. Charged with: AWDW INTENT TO KILL.

— A 25-year-old woman was being held without bail Tuesday in the Wake County Detention Center on domestic violence charges that include two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Lydia Maria Sturgues, who gave authorities an address in Gastonia, surrendered Monday on the charges that stem from an incident on June 15, records showed.

According to Raleigh police, they were called to a disturbance at 5716 Forest Point Road that day and were told that Sturgues had tried to hit a man with an exercise weight, then tried to run him down with a car, then hit a car he had got into and then left the area.

The man was not seriously hurt, police said.

Warrants they obtained for Sturgues charged her with the two felony assault counts, a misdemeanor count of assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Sturgues also was charged with failing to keep a court date for misdemeanor assault and trespassing charges from earlier in May.
