You’ve never heard anything quite as intense as the Toronto band F--ked Up. They’ll scream it out Saturday at King’s in Raleigh.

  • Other highlights

    • McLeansville’s own (Chris) Daughtry plays Raleigh’s Walnut Creek Tuesday on a bill with Goo Goo Dolls and Plain White T’s.

    • The great singer/songwriter Richard Buckner plays Duke’s “Music in the Gardens” show Wednesday in Durham and heartland progressive-metal band King’s X is Thursday’s headliner for the latest Oak City 7 free show on downtown Raleigh’s City Plaza.

Somehow, even adjectives such as "HUMONGOUS" or "MASSIVE" just don't do justice to the over-the-moon extravagance of F--ked Up, the Toronto ensemble that has a way of rendering everything on an epic, larger-than-life scale. Mostly, that comes down to frontman Damian Abraham's paint-peeling howl, which is capable of boiling blood from light-years away. And you might think you've heard screaming before, but you've never heard anything quite as intense as Abraham when he really lets it fly - which is basically every second he's vocalizing on the new F--ked Up album "Glass Boys" (Matador Records). See the spectacle live Saturday at Kings in Raleigh. Showtime is 9 p.m. and cover is $15. Details at
