The Canes on Thursday agreed to terms with defenseman Michal Jordan and forward Jared Staal on one-year, two-way contracts.
Jordan will be paid $550,000 on the NHL level or $200,000 on the American Hockey League level, with a guarantee of $225,000. Staal will receive $550,000 on the NHL level or $65,000 on the AHL level.
Jordan, 23, completed his fourth professional season in 2013-14, leading all Checkers defensemen with 21 assists. He played in 70 of Charlottes 76 games last season.
Staal, 23, is the younger brother of the Canes' Eric and Jordan Staal. He played in 50 games with the Checkers, notching two goals and earning five assists.
