Teen fatally stabbed in Raleigh after July 4 fireworks

A teen was stabbed to death in downtown Raleigh after July 4 fireworks Friday night.

Raleigh police responded to the stabbing after 11 p.m. at South Wilmington and East Cabarrus streets. They transported the victim, Tahje Alexander Mials, 16, to WakeMed, where he later died.

Police charged Jerome Lee Gardner, 20, with his murder. Gardner is being held at the Wake County Detention Center.
