Man holds up Money Center office at Garner Walmart store

GARNER POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Police were looking for a man who handed a clerk a note demanding money and hinted that he had a hidden weapon at the Money Center in a Walmart store Monday afternoon.

Police said the robbery happened about 3:30 p.m. at the store at 4500 Fayetteville Road.

The suspect, seen on a surveillance photo released by police, was a black man wearing a dark, short-sleeved shirt and dark pants, with short-cropped hair and carrying what appeared to be a towel over his left shoulder.

Police did not disclose how much money was taken.
