Wayne Muller: Un-American made

July 8, 2014

My wife and I recently purchased a dining room set from one of those Western Carolina furniture stores. I always thought that the furniture sold there was made in America. In fact, my dining room set was from the Americana series. Without any doubts, it had to be made in America.

It arrived at my home recently. As the delivery men were unloading it off their truck, I noticed a huge box. It was a dining room table, and written in big letters was “made in Vietnam.”

Yup, that was my American-made table. Advice for others who are wanting to buy American goods: Ask before ordering. God Bless America.
