  • Other highlights

    • On Friday, Bluegrass Experience will pick and sing their extensive ’grassy repertoire at the Bynum Front Porch Series in Bynum. On Saturday, Loudin Wainwright III and Iris DeMent bring their left-of-center country and folk to the N.C. Museum of Art.

    • The Old Habits, along with Hank Smith and Lindsey Tims, will entertain Thursday for the Oak City 7 series at Raleigh City Plaza.

The Band Perry might feel like the intrepid explorers suggested by the title of their latest CD, "Pioneer." But to their fans, their adventuresome trail leads in one direction - straight up. Since release of their wildly successful self-titled debut album in 2010, the youthful trio has enjoyed a string of hits, including the single "If I Die Young." "Pioneer" may reveal a different side of The Band Perry. But pioneers or not, it's a safe bet that wherever The Band Perry ventures, their fans are sure to follow. They'll showcase both new and familiar music on Sunday at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. The show starts at 7 p.m. with Craig Campbell also performing. More information at boothamphitheatre.com.
