Jean Blackwell: So be it

July 10, 2014

The Rev. Vernon Tyson’s July 9 Point of View, “ The problems with public money, private purpose,” beautifully articulated why it is wrong to give tax dollars to private religious academies. His argument against the General Assembly’s decision to fund vouchers for private, selective academies is clear and, I think, indisputable: The state cannot get in the religion business, nor can the church afford to be ruled by the state. Amen!
