Terry A. Henderson: Too many Dukes

July 10, 2014

Regarding the July 10 news article “ Family, university duke it out”: Duke University is right to want to end the confusion over “use of similar marks associated with unapproved goods or services of unreliable quality and/or unregulated” by it. And John Wayne’s family should halt its effort to create a Duke brand bourbon.

Duke’s Mayonnaise, “The Dukes of Hazard,” the Duke of Earl and the Bush Bean secret recipe keeper should all cease and desist.

And will someone please tell Duke Energy to knock it off? It’s getting so confusing to know what is part of Duke University.

I’m having a devil of a time keeping it straight.
