About 1,200 affected by Cary power outage, Progress says

— Progress Energy crews were dealing with an outage Friday morning that the company said affected 1,184 customers in numerous locations.

The company’s outage information website said officials were trying to determine what had happened to cause the 7:15 a.m. outage.

They estimated an 11:15 a.m. restoration.

Cary police said they had received reports of a power surge Friday morning, but there had been no accidents affecting power lines.
