Cary man charged with statutory rape

— A 20-year-old Cary man was charged Friday with engaging in a sexual act with a 14-year-old in May.

The Knightdale Police Department arrested Marshall Everette Wise, of 104 Collier Place, on Friday, according to an arrest warrant.

Wise, who is listed in county records as an employee of Baker Roofing, faces felony charges of indecent liberties with a child and statutory rape.

Police allege the crime took place on May 5, according to the warrant. Wise was held Friday on $550,000 bond, county records state.
