Four Girl Scouts attain Silver Award

July 13, 2014

Julia Eason, Mai Le, Megan Pugsley and Meghna Sharma, all of Cary, have been awarded the Girl Scout Silver Award, the second-highest achievement in Girl Scouting.

For their Silver Award project, the girls researched the needs of cancer patients undergoing treatment and created care packages designed especially for them.

The care packages were distributed to patients at Rex Hospital.

To package the kits, the girls planned and hosted a party where they also created handwritten notes to place in the bags.

They documented their process so that other service organizations could create and distribute the packages as well.

Julia is the daughter of Katherine Eason. Mai is the daughter of Minh and Michelle Le.

Megan is the daughter of Aimee and Michael Pugsley.

Meghna is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sharma.
