Wake officers arrest Va. woman on abduction charge

— The Wake County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 21-year-old woman on abduction charges early Sunday morning at the request of Charlottesville, Va., police.

Kayla Hoy, whose address is listed in Amherst, Va., is charged with abduction by force to deprive of liberty by Charlottesville Police, a Wake County arrest warrant says.

An arrest warrant in Pittsylvania County, Va., near the North Carolina border, says the kidnapping happened July 7. In Virginia, the crime of which Hoy is accused is a Class 5 felony, meaning she could face one to 10 years in prison.

Hoy is scheduled to appear in Wake County District Court Monday morning.
