Raleigh police ask for help on gas station robbery suspect

From staff reportsJuly 14, 2014

— Police are asking for any information the public can supply to help them find a man they said is a suspect in four armed robberies in May and June at gas stations.

The man wears hoodie-type sweatshirts in the robberies, police say, and has had at least three different ones in the four Raleigh holdups, which happen late at night or early in the morning.

The robber is in his 20s or early 30s, police estimate, black, stands about 6 feet tall and is slender.

Police said he has shown a dark revolver in each robbery. The holdups happened:

May 8 at a BP at 2570 S. Wilmington St.

June 4 at Handee Hugo’s at 2837 Wake Forest Road

June 7 at Handee Hugo’s at 2800 Tryon Road

June 27 at Handee Hugo’s at 2581 Gorman St.

Detectives asked that anyone who thinks they recognize the man or has other information that might assist the investigation call Raleigh CrimeStoppers at 919-834-4357 (HELP) or visit www.raleighcrimestoppers.org for text and email reporting options.

CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that help solve cases.
