Assad Meymandi: Step forward on schools

July 14, 2014

In the past 50 years, rivers of ink have been spilled producing books, articles and untold numbers of doctoral dissertations about improving American education with very few results until now.

The July 8 news story “ Obama: Put better teachers in poor schools” reported that President Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan suggest to improve education we must put better teachers in poor schools. This is the first time elevating education takes precedence over dumbing down and “mainstreaming.” How good it is to use resources in the earliest stages of a child’s education.

Better yet, how good it is to not bring children into this world unless parents are financially, emotionally and psychologically ready to be mamas and daddies and not mere reproductive machines.
