Tickets will go on sale Sunday for the annual TerraVita Food & Drink event in Chapel Hill.
The event will be Oct. 9-11 and features special dinners, panel discussions, workshops and a grand tasting event on Saturday. This year, the festival also will feature the N.C. premiere of “A Chef’s Life,” the PBS program starring Kinston chef Vivian Howard and her effort to document eastern North Carolina food traditions.
For the first time, attendees can purchase a three-day pass for $425 that includes access to all the scheduled events as well as a few non-ticketed events parties.
Otherwise, here’s the schedule and pricing:
• Oct. 9, Southern Harvest dinner at Southern Season in Chapel Hill featuring chef Kevin Johnson of The Grocery in Charleston, S.C. and Weathervane’s chef Spencer Carter. The dinner will be followed by “A Chef’s Life” premiere. Cost: $85.
• 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Oct. 10, The Sustainable Classroom featuring workshops, tastings, demonstrations and panel discussions. Cost: $60.
• Oct. 10, East meets West dinner featuring chef Scott Crawford of Standard Foods and Nash Tavern, two restaurants on the horizon in Raleigh, Ben Adams of Piedmont in Durham and Matthew Dawes of The Bull & Beggar in Asheville. Cost: $100.
• Oct. 11, the Grand Tasting will feature living cooking demonstrations and tastings from more than 45 chefs and food artisans from across North Carolina. Cost: $75 or $60 for a designated driver.
