CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Electrolux has donated nearly 400 Frigidaire room air conditioners to charities attempting to help low-income families.
The company, which moved its North American headquarters to Charlotte four years ago, delivered the products to Crisis Assistance Ministry for redistribution to low-income Mecklenburg County families and individuals.
The air conditioners, which were donated Tuesday, are valued at more than $45,000.
Electrolux has donated $790,000 worth of products locally, including refrigerators, washing machines and microwaves. Most went to Crisis Assistance Ministry, which is a major supplier of used furniture and appliances to agencies trying to prevent homelessness and help the working poor.
