Worth Lutz III: An individual plan

July 15, 2014

Regarding the Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby case and the effect on women and contraceptives: I wonder why no one ever asked about the elephant in the room.

Why are our employers in charge of our health insurance? Why do they choose our plan, what is covered (or not!) and how much the co-insurance, deductibles and all other things related to our plan will be?

Our government has made it impossible for individuals to control their health insurance choices by requiring employers to provide health insurance.

Health insurance plans should be chosen and owned by the individual and not the government or employers.
