Burlington woman charged with killing boyfriend

— A Burlington woman has been arrested and charged with killing her boyfriend.

Dianna Haith, 41, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 50-year-old Darrell Cash, The Times-News of Burlington (http://bit.ly/1kz41n3) reported.

Police were called to the couple's home July 7 and Haith told officers that Cash had hit her. He was released later that day.

"The investigation revealed that arguments and domestic violence was not an uncommon thing for the two of them," said Lt. Brian Long of the Burlington Police Department.

She called emergency officials July 9 and said Cash was unconscious. He was taken to Alamance Regional Medical Center where he died.

Investigators determined that Haith had hit Cash in the head a number of times on July 6. They also determined that Cash had not been attacked in jail during the hours that he spent there July 7.

She's being held in the Alamance County jail. It was not clear if she has an attorney.

Long said investigators don't know what sparked the arguments and attacks last week.
