Helping to Feed the Need is easy...and fun!

How to help: Sign up to sell special $1 editions of The N&O at local Harris-Teeters, Bojangles' and freestanding Starbucks on Saturday, April 18. Every paper sold yields a donation of 75 cents to the Food Bank. If you sold 100 papers, that would be $75 to the Food Bank. For every $1 the Food Bank gets, it can deliver $8 worth of food to people in need.

Hours: Volunteers work in twos and threes, for two-hour shifts, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. We also have 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. shifts at Bojangles' and Starbucks for early birds! Groups are also encouraged to sign up to staff a location for the entire day.

What else: You'll need to pick up a bundle of papers at one of our convenient locations and return any leftovers, plus the money you collected, to the same place when your shift is over. If you are under 18 years old, you also need your parent or guardian to OK your participation. A parental consent form will be available for printing when you register.

What do you get: A special Feed the Need volunteer apron, plus the opportunity to help hungry people and have fun.
