RALEIGH -- Wake County parents are invited to attend a free seminar Saturday on this fall's $970 million school construction bond referendum and parent-teacher conferences.

There will be information on what new schools, renovation projects and technology purchases would be financed by the bond issue. Parents also will learn tips for having effective parent-teacher conferences.

The guest speakers will be Chuck Dulaney, Wake's assistant superintendent for growth and planning, and Donna Hargens, Wake's chief academic officer.

The event, sponsored by the Coalition of Concerned Citizens For African American Children, will run from 10 a.m. to noon at Martin Street Baptist Church, 1001 E. Martin St. in Raleigh.

For more information, contact Calla Wright at cccaac@nc.rr.com or call 231-9057.
