College Football:  Houston fans don't like where I have the Cougars (No. 15), and Virginia Tech (No. 10) fans don't like where I have the Hokies. But, I don't know how to justify moving them up.

College Football:  Against all historical odds, Oklahoma State, a program that hasn't won an outright conference title since 1948, is two wins away from playing for the national title.

College Football:  Maybe the disconnect between the fan bases and coaching staffs at North Carolina and N.C. State has never been further apart, but on the football field, the series has rarely been closer in its 100-game history.

College Football:  Seven teams ranked in the nine spots between No. 8 and No. 17 lost this week, which leaves the second part of the top 25 in a jumbled mess. Clemson shoots up the list after its third straight win over a ranked team.

College Football:  Leave it to Rick Pitino, a basketball coach from another conference, to boil down the ACC's seemingly football-centric expansion to its essence.

College Football:  It took a week, but the rest of the poll caught up and placed Louisiana State at No. 1 instead of Oklahoma.

College Football:  I'm not sure how you could watch Louisiana State suffocate Mississippi State on Thursday, with a defense that could win the NFC West, and then watch Oklahoma struggle Saturday against Florida State's backup quarterback and think the Sooners deserve to be No. 1.

College Football:  The answer won't come for another two months, but a question lingers from N.C. State's 34-27 loss Saturday to Wake Forest: Is N.C. State in for a long season, after losing to what was a bad team in 2010, or is Wake Forest better?

College Football:  You don't have to look far to find ACC talent in the NFL. Every team in the league has at least three players from ACC schools, and the conference has a total of 249 players in the league as the season begins tonight in Green Bay.
