Foundation hires new director

CHAPEL HILL -- The Foundation for a Sustainable Community, a nonprofit partner of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce, has hired Caroline Poole as its first associate director.

Poole will focus on resource development, communications and key program management and delivery for the foundation. She has a master's degree in public health and a bachelor's degree in international relations from UNC Chapel Hill.

Poole was a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa, worked for an internet marketing firm, and served as the community development coordinator for the Orange County Partnership for Young Children.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce created the Foundation for a Sustainable Community in 2004 to invest the resources of the business community. To learn more, visit www.sustainablecommunity.info.
