RALEIGH - Advance tickets for the N.C. State Fair are available at outlets in Raleigh and Durham, in addition to the fair's Web site.

Fairgoers can save $2 off an adult admission ticket and $8 off a sheet of ride tickets by buying before the fair starts. Advance tickets will be available online and at walk-up locations through Oct. 16, the fair's opening day. The fair runs through Oct. 26.

Advance tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 6 through 12, while a sheet of 18 ride tickets is $10 in advance.

In Raleigh, tickets are available at four locations: Gate 9 of the State Fairgrounds, the N.C. Museum of History downtown, Triangle Town Center mall and the State Farmers Market. In Durham, the tickets are sold at Northgate mall and The Streets at Southpoint mall.

Admission and ride tickets, as well as additional information, are available at the State Fair's Web site, www.ncstatefair.org.
