CARY -- The chief of police says she's pleased with the progress in solving Nancy Cooper's death.
Chief Pat Bazemore issued a statement Monday, on what would have been the slain mother's 35th birthday.
"Our thoughts go out to her twin sister, Krista, and the rest of their family as they do their best to find and celebrate the good in today," Bazemore said.
"I continue to be pleased with our progress in the case and thank the community for their participation," the chief said.
Cooper vanished after her husband, Bradley Cooper, said she went out for a run on July 12. Her body was found in an unfinished subdivision two days later. Police have not named a suspect in the murder or made an arrest.
Search warrants in the case have been sealed until Sept. 2.
