When the holiday season revs up, so do the activities. Unfortunately, especially this year, a high-quality show may be beyond your budget, especially if you have a few children.
What to do? Go to the Holly Springs Cultural Center Super Saturday Family Series show and let Mark Nizer make you laugh for less than $6 per person for a family of six.
It's part of the center's Super Saturday series for families, aimed at offering kid-friendly entertainment at affordable prices, director Don Briscar says. "We just thought it was necessary with our demographic, especially with so many blended families," he said.
Single tickets cost $8, but the show is $20 for a family of three.
The series also includes "The Night Before Christmas Carol" on Dec. 19, with Charles Dickens scholar Elliot Engel in a 90-minute show playing Dickens and 17 characters.
Nizar isn't just any juggler. He's opened for Jerry Seinfeld and performed at the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center. The man has juggled laser beams at 1000 rpms or five ping pong balls being thrown 20 feet in the air using only his mouth.
Don't wait too long: The center only has 191 seats.
