Show your kids that eggs don't come only from the grocery store. Check out the Henside the Beltline Tour d'Coop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Raleigh's chicken owners are inviting you into their backyards for a look at how they keep chickens in an urban environment. The tour is in the Five Points, Oakwood and Avent West neighborhoods, among others. Bring a nonperishable food or cash donation for Raleigh Urban Ministries. Maps will be available the day of the tour at several area businesses, including Whole Foods on Wade Avenue. Go to www.kalmialandscapedesign.com/tourdcoop.htm for details.

Get Grandma and take her to Historic Oak View County Park, 4028 Carya Drive, Raleigh, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday for "Memories of Electrification." As part of the park's exhibit on how electricity changed life in rural North Carolina, the park is gathering personal stories. It's a good opportunity to get Ma and Pa to talk to their grandkids or great-grandkids about their own childhoods. The park also recently opened a new interactive area for kids called Farmer's Corner with hands-on games, puzzles, books and a touch-screen interactive computer. Go to www.wakegov.com/locations/oakview.htm or call 250-1013 for details.
