Q: What type of transactions can I make online?
A: You can start a new home delivery or e-edition subscription, make a payment, temporarily stop delivery, report a missed delivery or update your account information.
Q: What is the e-edition?
A: The e-edition is a digital replica of the print newspaper, available online every morning by 5:00 a.m. You can search, save, print, send and navigate the e-edition with ease. Learn more about the e-edition

Q: How can I access the e-edition?
A: 7-day News & Observer subscribers can access the e-edition for free in the
Subscriber Services Center. Friday through Sunday and Sunday only News & Observer subscribers can get the e-edition included with the cost of their subscription by calling News & Observer customer service. Everyone else can subscribe to the e-edition for $5 a month
here.
Q: How do I temporarily stop my newspaper delivery?
A: Temporary stops can be placed online in the
Subscriber Services Center or by calling News & Observer customer service.
Q: How do I report a delivery problem?
A: You can report a missed or late delivery online in the
Subscriber Services Center or by calling News & Observer Customer Service. We offer same day redelivery in Wake, Durham and Orange counties if reported by 9:30 a.m. weekdays, 10:00 a.m. Saturdays, and 11:00 a.m. Sundays. For all other areas, you can receive credit for the missed delivery.
Q: Where does The N&O deliver?
A: The News and Observer delivers throughout the Triangle and eastern North Carolina. If you are unsure if we deliver to your neighborhood, please contact News & Observer customer service.
Q: How do I start a new subscription?
A: Home delivery and e-edition subscriptions are available
here.
Q: How do I pay for my subscription?
A: If you are starting a new subscription, you can pay by credit card at the time of order. You may also choose to be billed. In that case, your first bill will arrive shortly after delivery begins. Subscribers will receive two renewal notices by mail before their account expires. Renewal payments can be made
online, by calling News & Observer customer service or by mail. More payment details will be included with each renewal notice.
Q: What time will my newspaper arrive each morning?
A: Our goal is to deliver your newspaper no later than 6:00 a.m. Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. Saturday, and 7:00 a.m. Sunday in Wake County. In all other areas, we deliver by 6:30 a.m. Monday - Friday, and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. When weather, road conditions or mechanical failure at our printing facility make that impossible, we post delivery updates on our customer service line.
Q: How do I purchase back issues of The N&O?
A: The N&O archives back issues for approximately six months. For availability and pricing, please contact News & Observer customer service.
Q: Can I view the News & Observer print archive online?
A: Yes. The print archive is available
here.
Q: What is a “value-added” day?
A: All subscribers will receive delivery on New Year’s Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving 11/27/2009, 11/26/2010 and Christmas Day at no additional cost.
