Regarding Bob Reder's June 27 Point of View opposing an end to the state's ban on Sunday hunting:

No one is allowed to hunt on the property of another person without express written permission. If that person wishes to enjoy his property on Sundays with activities that exclude hunting, he is free to do so.

I fail to see how families could be, as Reder put it, held hostage on their own land. Any hunter violating this law, no matter the day of the week, can and should be prosecuted.

Hunting on public game lands is a different issue, and most hunters would agree to leave the Sunday hunting ban in place so that all could enjoy these lands on that day.

Reder's comments just don't make sense and, I believe, were meant to tarnish and demean our great heritage of hunting in this state.
