I was greatly disappointed to read of Gov. Mike Easley's desire to place office buildings for state Health and Human Services employees on the Dix campus (news story, March 1). This would be a terrible mistake.
This desirable property must become the "Pride of Raleigh" -- a beautiful garden area with quaint restaurants, concerts, a gathering place and a destination for residents and out-of-town guests alike. Easley has always had the best interests of our state at heart, but he is way off the mark here. He must reconsider.
