DURHAM -- The Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People has announced its endorsements in the May 6 primary election.
In local races, the committee backed Joe W. Bowser, Michael D. Page and Fred Foster Jr. for Durham County commissioner; Jonathan R. Alston for Durham Public Schools board at-large; and Tracey Cline for district attorney.
State Sen. Floyd McKissick also won the committee's endorsement for another term.
The group endorsed incumbent Minnie Forte Brown for school board District A, though she is running unopposed.
