Lottery machines to echo Amber Alert

closeRALEIGH -- Starting Tuesday, lottery ticket machines across the state will also light up when an Amber Alert is issued for a missing child.
According to a release from the N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety, the N.C. Education Lottery and the N.C. Center for Missing Persons have entered a partnership that will further spread the word when children are abducted. The employee will first notice the crawl message on his or her monitor. The employee will also be able to print out details of the alert for interested parties. A scrolling alert message will also appear on the video screen at the terminal.
Messages are now sent to the public and the media when a child 17 or younger is abducted or thought to be in serious danger.
