Mom2Mom.com offers busy parents a way to connect

Our new Web site, TriangleMom2Mom.com, offers new moms or those new to the Triangle dozens of ways to connect with other moms in the Triangle.

A resources page on the site posts lists names and links to local groups offering play dates, regular activities, tips and advice. It's a place to find friends for your kids and yourself.

Here's a sampling of what you can find. To get the links, go online to TriangleMom2Mom.com.

* Durham Mothers Club

* Chapel Hill/Carrboro Mothers Club

* Moms of Boys: A national group with a local chapter started by a local mom.

* Mothers Unlimited: A local group that started in Johnston County but is branching out across the Triangle and country.

* TriangleMommies.com

* Fallon Park/Five Points Moms n Dads

* Mocha Moms: A national group dedicated to serving stay-at-home women of color, with local chapters in Raleigh and Durham

* International MOMS Clubs: An international group formed in 1983 by an at-home mom looking to meet other moms and kids. Now it's a massive organization.

* Mothers of Preschoolers International: MOPS groups, typically based in churches, offer childcare for kids from infants to age 6 so moms can get together to learn, share and get to know each other. There are more than 40 groups in the Triangle. Most meet twice a month on weekday mornings, though a few meet in the evenings.

* Meetup.com groups for moms: The Web site Meetup.com provides a way for people to connect and get together. There are several active Meetup.com groups for moms and their families. The biggest local groups, with 75 or more members, include: The Cary Moms Meetup Group; Cary New Parents Meetup Group; Raleigh Family Fun Group; North Raleigh-Wake Forest Stay at Home Moms Group; Nature Trail Stroller Hikers/Walkers; The Clayton Moms Meetup Group.

* Triangle Moms in Business

* Triangle Mothers of Twins and Triplets

* Holistic Moms: A national group with a Triangle chapter dedicated to moms who are interested in holistic health, "green living" and alternative parenting styles.

*Capital Area Parents Without Partners

* Single Parents of the Triangle Meet-up

* TriangleDads.com: The group calls itself the Triangle's original dad community.
