SOME LOCAL TAKE A CHILD OUTSIDE EVENTS
* Umstead Park will be holding "Take a Child Outside Night," from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday. Reservations are requested for the free event by calling 571-4170. Go to www.ncsparks.net/wium to learn more about Umstead.
* Guilded walks of the Museum of Natural Sciences' Prairie Ridge Ecostation for Wildlife and Learning, 4301 Reedy Creek Road, will leave every 30 minutes between 3 and 7 p.m., Thursday. * At Jordan Lake, there is a 1.4-mile hike at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Seaforth Recreation Area and a 1-mile hike at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Ebenezer day use area. The Jordan events are free; 362-0586 for more information.
