Toronto's annual ideaCity bills itself as a meeting of the minds. Organizers invite 50 people to spend 20 minutes each talking about ideas that could change the world.

At last month's gathering, John Q. Walker of Raleigh's Zenph Studios joined Peter Bergman of Firesign Theatre, Pilatecize creator Haley Borden, Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova, magician Franz Harary, BlackBerry co-creator Mike Lazaridis and other presenters for some big-time show-and-tell.

For his part, Walker presented a performance by the late pianist Glenn Gould, who lived in the Toronto area. The means for this miracle was Zenph software that re-creates original performances and plays them back on a concert grand piano. Walker's demonstration featured a 1955 Gould recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations.
