Offices? Downtown

In response to the March 1 article "Easley: Put offices on Dix land," why would we want to build office buildings on this priceless land when we are spending millions of dollars to revitalize downtown? Office buildings should be built downtown.

We want to preserve all 306 acres of Dorothea Dix Park for the good of everyone in North Carolina before it is gone forever. Friends of Dorothea Dix Park has raised private funds to contract with world-renowned park planner John Hoal to create a destination park, like Central Park in New York City.

Years from now, no one will regret that we saved this land. Preserving the land as a destination park is the right thing to do for our children, our economic stability and our overall quality of life.
