SHORT WORK: Ben Zobrist and Reid Brignac homered to power the Durham Bulls to a 6-0 victory over the visiting Norfolk Tides on Sunday evening in a game that was shortened by rain. The game was twice delayed by rain before it was called in the top of the seventh.
The Bulls scored four runs in the first inning, with Zobrist slamming a two-run homer. Brignac hit a two-run homer in the fourth for Durham.
Jeff Niemann (4-2) pitched five shutout innings, giving up two hits while walking five and striking out four.
BULLS MAKE MOVES: Durham infielder Joel Guzman was placed on temporary Inactive by the Tampa Bay Rays. Guzman was tied for the Bulls' home run lead with 14.
Josh Labandeira assigned to Durham from Hudson Valley.
