The Durham Bulls and Carolina Mudcats have 10 all-stars between them.

Four Durham Bulls were named to the International League All-Star team on Wednesday. They'll face the Pacific Coast League in the 21st annual Triple-A All-Star Game on July 16 at Louisville Slugger Field in Louisville, Ky.

Pitchers Jeremy Cummings and Dale Thayer will represent Durham, along with infielders Reid Brignac and Chris Richard.

Since arriving in Durham as a free agent, Cummings has been one of the team's most consistent pitchers, going 7-2 in 10 starts with a 2.72 ERA. Thayer is the sixth-best closer in the league, with nine saves and a 1.48 ERA.

Brignac has been an anchor defensively for the Bulls at shortstop and leads the league in fielding percentage (.975), assists (202) and putouts (114).

Richard is third in the IL with a .309 batting average. The slugger has knocked in 53 runs and hit 15 home runs, good enough for fifth- and eighth-best in the league, respectively.

On Monday, the Carolina Mudcats placed six players on the North Division team for the Southern League All-Star Game, which will be played at 7:15 p.m. on July 14 at Five County Stadium in Zebulon.

The team includes pitchers Chris Volstad and Chris Mobley. Volstad is 4-3 with a 3.28 ERA in 85 innings, and Mobley is 3-1 with a 2.80 ERA.

Outfielders Cameron Maybin and John Raynor also made the team. Maybin leads the Mudcats in home runs with 12 and has 37 RBIs. Raynor is batting .289 with 26 RBIs.

First baseman Gaby Sanchez and second baseman Chris Coghlan were also selected. Sanchez is ranked second for the Mudcats with 41 RBIs and is batting .314. Coghlan is hitting .302 with 46 RBIs.

The Southern Division all-stars were selected by the league on Wednesday.
