RALEIGH -
Millbrook smothered visiting Knightdale in the first half and held on for its first victory of the season.
The Wildcats, playing before a boisterous crowd, blitzed the Knights on the ground, scoring 19 points in the second quarter.
After losing to Garner 40-19 in its opening game, Millbrook regrouped and capitalized on the Knights' slow start.
Knightdale shut out the Wildcats in the second half and managed to punch in a pair of second half touchdowns.
Still, after securing their first varsity win last week in overtime, 15-14, over Middle Creek, the Knights were too far behind to catch the Wildcats.
Knightdale faces undefeated and high-scoring Athens Drive next week. Millbrook travels to East Wake.
