The Triangle dominated the state cross country championships. Chapel Hill (4-A), Cardinal Gibbons (2-A) and Durham Science & Math (1-A) won NCHSAA titles. Chapel Hill's Taylor Gilland and Gibbons' Sean Sewell were individual champions. Durham Cresset won the NCISAA 1-A title.

NCHSAA: 4-A, Chapel Hill and Taylor Gilland (Chapel Hill); 3-A, Mooresville and Ryan Hill (Hickory); 2-A, Cardinal Gibbons and Sean Sewell (Cardinal Gibbons); 1-A, Durham Science & Math and Kyle Ingram (Hayesville).

NCISAA: 3-A, Charlotte Providence Day and Rett English (Asheville Christ); 2-A, Fayetteville Academy and Graham Davis (Carolina Day); 1A, Durham Cresset and Beau Guidry (Durham Cresset)
