'Shred-a-thon' targets identity theft

closeA "shred-a-thon" will be held from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday in Hudson Belk's parking lot at Crabtree Valley Mall.
The public is invited to come shred personal financial records, pre-approved credit card applications and old bills to prevent identity theft. The event is being sponsored by N.C. Attorney General Roy Cooper, Wachovia Bank and Recall, an international information management company with a Raleigh office, which is providing the shredding truck.
