Rants and raves

Lane cutters

I have a problem that is driving me crazy!! I live past Durant Road, so EVERY, and I do mean EVERY day on my way home there is a straight lane in front of the water treatment plant and there is a turn lane.

It NEVER fails...people are sitting in line in the right line, forever while these bozos are flying past us and going sometimes all the way to the turn lane runs out and pulling over into our lanes.

Car smashed

You know, it is one thing to get your car door dinged while in a parking lot but quite the other to have it smashed-in to the tune of over $2,000 in damages. So this rant is to the jack-leg (at the Six Forks Chick-fil-A on April 12) that didn't have the common decency to come inside to seek out the owner.

Honesty times 2

While getting out reading material from my vehicle that I could read while waiting to get a haircut at Great Clips on Strickland Road, I dropped a deposit slip and three checks in the parking lot without realizing it. I had my hair cut and then drove off.

I had totally forgotten about making the deposit. Imagine my surprise when I got home and found two messages, one from a Dave Rivers who found two of the checks and the deposit slip which had my phone number on it. The second call...was from Nancy Malek at Shops of Baileywick who found the third check. She didn't have any phone number, just my name on the check. She made the effort to do some detective work to find me in the phone book.

So, I got back what I lost and at the same time I found a reason to be grateful to two people who took the time and effort to return what I had lost without realizing I had lost it.
