With an election less than two weeks away, North Carolina’s U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers has gone on the attack to defend her seat from District 2 – the only congressional race in the country this year where two incumbents from the same party are squaring off in a heated primary. Ellmers is criticizing Rep. George Holding, a fellow Republican, over what she calls extravagant spending on congressional trips to India and Jordan.
Body camera footage from an officer-involved shooting in 2014 was thrust into the state’s debate about the devices when the city of Greensboro opted to release the video this month.
