The Wake Young Men’s Leadership Academy and Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy held their first graduation ceremony on Tuesday, sending 38 students off to college and careers. They are the only two single-gender schools in the Wake County school system and were initially opposed by some in the community.

Though the Obama administration might have the best of intentions, its fusion of sex and gender in its bathroom letter raises complex questions. And all of this is happening when many complain that our culture is becoming increasingly solipsistic and when President Obama is just one of the voices complaining about those who make up their own facts and their own truths.
