Prosecutors in the North Hills murder trial played a portion of a police interrogation video showing Travion Devonte Smith being questioned by a Raleigh police detective who lets him know that a stolen computer he was being questioned about had been associated with “a crime where somebody had died.” Smith is one of three people accused of murdering Melissa Huggins-Jones, a mother of two and newcomer to Raleigh who was found bludgeoned to death inside her North Hills apartment on May 14, 2013.
N.C. A&T State University women’s swim team faced off Saturday against Howard University in the last NCAA Division I meet between two historically black colleges. The university is disbanding its swim program, leaving Howard as the only institution among the nation’s 100-plus Historically Black Colleges and Universities with a Division I swimming and diving program.
