In a sport where it is common to see all-white teams, Duke’s Myles Jones is not only one of a few black athletes playing lacrosse at the collegiate level, but he’s also the very best, many former and current lacrosse coaches say. In January, the Atlanta Blaze, an expansion team starting its first season, selected Jones as the No. 1 pick in the Major League Lacrosse draft.

Trump ally Ellmers too ‘liberal’ for NC, claims conservative PAC

In the last few weeks before North Carolina’s congressional primary elections, the conservative political action committee Club for Growth Action plans to spend more money on TV ads opposing Republican U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers. Ellmers faces a re-election challenge this year from fellow GOP incumbent U.S. Rep. George Holding. Greg Brannon, a former candidate for U.S. Senate from North Carolina, and a doctor, is also running.

HB2: Who did this to us? We did – Gov. Jim Martin

The federal courts could overrule HB2, depending frankly on which set of judges hears it on appeal. By the time it reaches the Supreme Court, it may again depend on the presidential winner. The saner course would be for the General Assembly to take up the issue, which it has effectively tabled, conduct thoughtful hearings, and work out a reasonable balance of interests. Let reason and fairness prevail.
