Raleigh gourmet cookie company A Sweet Reminder is moving into a larger space just in time for the holidays. And, unlike the previous bakery, this one has room for walk-in customers.
A Sweet Reminder is run by husband and wife Lewis and Cindy Sheats. The Raleigh couple began the business five years ago, when they decided to combine her passion for baking with his business savvy (he teaches at N.C. State's College of Management).
The company started with mail-order tins and boxes for individuals but has branched out into corporate gifts and other products.
The couple baked cookies out of their home at first but then moved into a bakery on Chapel Hill Road in 2004.
Their new facility is at 5619-C Hillsborough St., near Jones Franklin Road. It's open Monday through Friday.
