Chapel Hill insurance agency All About Insurance was ranked No. 2 out of more than 4,000 agencies in the country and No. 1 in North Carolina by Nationwide Insurance Co. President Mark Vitali received an All Star Award for the distinction, at a ceremony in Paris.
Durham resident Roberta "Robbi" Weinman was named one of the nation's top long-term care producers by the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. Weinman is an associate with MassMutual Financial Group in Durham.
The state Department of Commerce honored six individuals for their significant contributions to the success of North Carolina's tourism industry. The 2008 winners are: Frank Capra Jr., who helped to found EUE/Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington; Bob McCoy, president of Visit Winston-Salem; Grady and Reba Moretz, who own Appalachian Ski Mountain; Todd Morse, who managed Chimney Rock Park; and Bruton Smith, who built Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Larry Surles and Wynn Crumbley from the Raleigh branch of Murray Supply Co. received sales awards for 2007 from the company. Also, the Raleigh branch won Branch of the Year for 2007. Murray Supply is a wholesale distributor of plumbing products and industrial and commercial piping.
USfalcon in Morrisville was recognized with a 2008 Nunn-Perry Award as an outstanding Protege by the Department of Defense Small Business Office. The Mentor-Protege team of Booz Allen Hamilton and USfalcon completed a two-year agreement in 2007 with N.C. Central University in Durham.
