The Family Doc diagnostic and wellness center in Sanford is offering a new service that focuses on preventive health and wellness. Mary Farrell has been hired to provide nutritional counseling.

Fleishman-Hillard in Raleigh was selected by McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant to plan events around its grand opening event at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh.

Falcon Engineering in Cary is merging with Tierra North Carolina, a geotechnicial and materials testing firm in Raleigh. The new organization will retain the name Falcon Engineering. Tommy Faulkner will remain as chief executive officer. Margaret Robertson was named chief operating officer of the combined company. Falcon's leadership team also includes Trevor Winnell, vice president, structural engineer and inspections manager, Josh Dunbar, vice president and environmental engineering manager, and Gabe Lang, vice president and geotechnical engineering manager.

Engineering firm Tisfoon Ulterior Systems moved to new offices at 1020 Southhill Drive in Cary. Pete Lederman, director of sales, was hired to help facilitate growth of the company. The firm specializes in software that produces greater yields of wood for the furniture, flooring, cabinetry and other industries.

Robert G. Jones, who specializes in orthopedic and sports medicine, arthroscopy and joint reconstruction opened a new practice, Impact Orthopaedics, on the Duke Raleigh Hospital campus.

Research Triangle Business Advisors in Apex has been formed by managing partners Bob De Contreras and Rich Kramarik. Research Triangle Business Advisors provides business consulting services to local businesses with an emphasis on CEO mentoring and strategic planning.

ArtusLabs in Durham partnered with Boston University's Center for Chemical Methodology and Library Development to develop a way to standardize and expand the way in which stereochemistry and three-dimensional structures are represented in the International Chemical Identifier. ArtusLabs is a technology company that specializes in scientific data management software.

ABC Insurance has opened at 800 W. Williams St. in Apex. ABC Insurance is an independent agency representing Erie Insurance Group.

North State Bank opened a loan production office at 4650-A Arendell St. in Morehead City.

Rivercrest Realty Investors, a Raleigh commercial real estate company, has acquired the Hanes Commons Shopping Center in Winston-Salem for $24.3 million dollars.

OneStep Systems in Raleigh has opened for business and is introducing its first product, 1StepInventory.com, a home inventory service that allows homeowners to create and maintain automated, photograph-based records.
