Alltel Wireless completed network improvements in Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham to provide customers with wireless broadband Internet that is five to 10 times faster than before. The EVDO Revision A technology will also be extended along U.S. 64 from Wendell to Rocky Mount, along U.S. 264 from Wendell to Greenville and along Interstate 95 from Wilson to Roanoke Rapids.

Premiere Family Events moved from Boston to 924 Terrastone Place in Cary. The company offers advanced screening events of major motion picture releases. Premiere Family Events organizes events in metropolitan areas across the country.

Judge Douglas McCullough of the N.C. Court of Appeals is the author of a new book, "Sea of Greed." It is the true story of a smuggling ring that stretched from coastal North Carolina to Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega. "Sea of Greed" debuted at the Beaufort Book Fair as part of the Beaufort Historical Association Tour and Book Fair.

USfalcon, based in Morrisville, has been awarded a contract for business operations, engineering, administrative and logistics support for PM Navigation Systems, who provides global positioning and target identification products to the Department of Defense. The value of the contract is estimated at $5 million for two years.

Solutions 4MD in Durham will provide internal billing and coding processes for Carolina Women's Research and Wellness Center.

Onug Communications was chosen by Rutherford County to design a high-speed network for the county. Onug will provide design, planning and project-related services.

Advance Auto Parts opened at 1744 Fordham Blvd. in Chapel Hill. Chris Strayhorn, the store's new manager, works there with 14 other team members.

Chef Arthur Gordon, owner of Irregardless Cafe in Raleigh, will write the back page commentary,"Last Seating," for the monthly magazine Restaurant Startup & Growth for the coming year.

North America Sports Media, which specializes in sports hospitality and event marketing, announced a rebranding initiative and will now go by the name Premiere Global Sports. The brand features three major business divisions: Premiere Corporate Events in New York, Premiere Sports Travel in Raleigh and Premiere College Sports, with offices in Raleigh and Champaign, Ill.
